Agentic commerce
Agentic commerce describes shopping or commercial workflows in which software performs research, comparison or steps toward a purchase for a person or organization. The term covers many designs; it does not mean that an agent should be able to spend without limits or review.
Map the commercial journey
Separate discovery, recommendation, selection, authorization, checkout, fulfillment and post-purchase support. Each stage may involve different providers and legal responsibilities. A product that automates comparison has not necessarily executed a purchase.
- Show the item, merchant, total price, fees and delivery terms.
- Make the person’s instruction and any standing mandate reviewable.
- Require confirmation when a material detail changes.
- Provide a clear record of order status, cancellation and support.
Consent and consumer protection
People need to understand which actions are automatic, which require confirmation and how to stop or dispute a transaction. Preserve evidence of the offer shown, the instruction received and the final action submitted.
The payment provider, merchant and agent platform may each control a different part of the journey. State the responsible party and escalation path rather than implying one system owns the whole transaction.
A developing category
This page describes category-level considerations and makes no claim that Noesia currently offers autonomous checkout. For the policy layer, see authorization; for bounded amounts, see spending controls.
